We are organizing a group order of high-quality basswood from Heinecke, a popular wood supplier in Northern Wisconsin. We will place the order on October 16th. We invite all SCVC members with current membership to participate. The club will pay shipping for up to 1/4 cubic foot of basswood per member. Let the club know what basswood sizes you want to order. You may find pricing on the Heinecke website, which is very reasonable (the same as last year).
The company can accommodate any size you prefer, not just what is listed on their website. Their cutting tolerance is usually within 1/16″. Please let us know what sizes and how many pieces you need. The sizes are specified in this format: thickness x width x length. They will cut the wood so the grain runs parallel to the length.
Examples:
- 3 boards: 1/2 x 4 x 8″ thickness x width x length
- 10 blocks: 1.5 x 1.5 x 6″
- 5 pieces: 2 x 6 x 12″
We usually order once a year. If you are not sure what sizes you need, consult the club members at the next meeting.
