Turning Demo: German Ring Turning (aka Reifendrehen) by John Wells, at the Silicon Valley Woodturners (SVW) meeting at Maker Nexus in Sunnyvale. John joined our club in September 2026 and demonstrated Spindle Turning for them that same month. Guests are welcome (but please RSVP to SVW, as seats are limited), so if a lathe has ever intrigued you, this is an easy evening to see what turning can do that a knife cannot. German ring turning is a technique for making small figures out of a turned wooden ring, and John will show how it works.

This event is also a great opportunity to learn more about the Silicon Valley Woodturners club. If you are interested in woodturning, consider visiting and joining the club.
