November 2025 – Join our Wood Carving Group Project! Let’s work together to create a winter wonderland by woodcarving and whittling unique icicles. All skill levels welcome!
September 2025 – Refine your skills and take your chip carving to the next level! Join our expert mentor, Roman Chernikov, for a hands-on session to learn advanced techniques, tips, and tricks for creating intricate and beautiful designs.
June 2025 – Inspired by the wisdom of timeless proverbs like “Make hay while the sun shines” and “Prepare for the worst, hope for the best,” let’s get a head start on the holiday season by crafting our own unique winter holiday ornaments! As a group project, we will carve and paint our ornaments together.
We’ll provide a variety of woodcarving blanks, perfect for bringing to life adorable pumpkins, spooky ghosts, smiling Christmas trees, and jolly snowmen. During our carving sessions, you may also choose your own holiday pattern to work on.
April 20, 27, 2025 – Whittle a kitchen trinket, such as a spatula, a small cutting/serving board, or a spoon. Join us as we gather to whittle our unique wooden trinkets. Our expert guide will briefly introduce the art of whittling, covering basic techniques, safety tips, and inspiration for your project.
February 13 and 20, 2025 – introduction to Wood Carving Merit Badge for Scouts from 11 years old to 17. Adult scouters are also welcome. Please view the requirements and fill out the registration form.
January 16 and 21, 2025 – Wood Carving Name Tags: Join the Santa Clara Valley Carvers for a hands-on mentorship session from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Silicon Valley Monterey Bay for Boy Scouts of America, 1900 The Alameda #100, San Jose. Learn to carve your own handmade name tag using whittling and various wood carving techniques — no prior experience needed!
